Specialties

In addition to academic editing and editing education content, I have specialties in the following areas.

Memoir I received three consecutive arts grants to lead Life Stories (memoir) workshops at the Somerville Public Library (Massachusetts). These classes supported participants in writing the significant events in their lives, writing from their truth, vulnerability, and identity. I support memoirists in finding the core of their story, and how to reveal, organize, and expand their writing.

Poetry I have a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from the University of Iowa Writers Workshop where I won an Academy of American Poets Poetry Prize. I have worked for the literary magazines Ploughshares, Agni, and Near-Life Experiences. My poetry has been published in Agni, The Boston Herald, Zocalo Public Square, and Fine Madness.

Children’s books I edited and developed textbooks on teaching children’s literature (Pearson Education), and copy edited children’s books for Charlesbridge publishers.
